Family Emergency Go-Bag Kit

Every family has a "where are the car keys" person. In an evacuation, that person becomes the "where are the flashlight, the granola bars, the phone charger, and also the car keys" person. That's a lot of pressure on one person.

Our Family Emergency Go-Bag Kit takes the scavenger hunt out of leaving in a hurry. It's one sturdy backpack, already packed with the basics a family reaches for in the first few days: food bars with a long shelf life, sealed drinking water pouches, a first aid kit, light, a way to hear the news, emergency blankets, and a few small comforts that make a hard day a little softer.

Hang it by the back door or tuck it in the hall closet. Then do the most important part, which is the part nobody sells: talk through your plan together. Where would you meet? Who picks up Grandma? Which stuffed animal is coming no matter what? (There's always one.)

Once it arrives, add your family's own essentials: medications, copies of documents, glasses, pet food, and a favorite snack for morale. The kit gives you a head start, and you make it yours.
